The Subway Art of Poster Boy

Have you ever heard of a street artist that goes by the name of ‘Poster Boy’?

Apparently he is some kind of guerrilla street artist that lives in New York City. Whenever he’s waiting around to catch the subway, he’ll use a little creativity to alter the billboards and posters hanging on the walls. Using only a razorblade, he slices and dices the advertisements and then eventually combines them together to create a brand new piece of art. This article explains his subway art quite well.

Of course, this is all very illegal, and he would be arrested on the spot if he was caught doing it. Nonetheless, it doesn’t stop him. Check out this video he shot for a documentary below. It doesn’t take him very long to use his razor and cut up the posters.

Pretty cool work he does.. I wish there were more videos of him creating his subway art. Here’s a link to Poster Boy’s flickr account, so you can check out all of the work he’s uploaded there. I also created this photo gallery of his Subway Art so you can see some of his work a little easier.

Subway Art: My Favorites from Poster Boy

Here’s a few images that I found in his flickr account that stood out to me. I wish that ‘Poster Boy’ would’ve uploaded some high-res images, because these would make for some really kick ass desktop wallpapers.

Seems a little juvenile to me, but I guess it could be considered art to others. Well, considered Subway Art.

I wonder if he’ll ever get caught.
