After helping the Houston Rockets beat the Portland Trailblazers, to go onto the 2nd round of the playoffs, Ron Artest jokes around with reporters that he’s “been in the stands before”.
It all started in the fourth quarter of the game, when Ron Artest went up into the stands after saving a ball. He didn’t come down right away, because the fans went crazy and all started patting him on the back and cheering him on, similar to a football player jumping onto the wall after scoring a touchdown.
When asked “how it felt to go up into the stands” after the game, Artest said, “well, uh… I’ve been in the stands before….I wanted to soak it in, so I sat down. This guy offered me some beer, when he did that, I’m gonna sit down and enjoy this, he’s not throwing it at me. I was gonna take a sip, but there’s too many cameras.”

Video of Ron Artest Fighting in the Stands
Obviously, in the video above, Ron Artest is referring to the infamous fight when he went into the stands to ‘punish’ a fan that threw a beer at him. The fight occurred on November 19, 2004, in a game between the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons.

I must admit… I have always thought of Ron Artest as another pompous, greedy basketball player with a temper. But, that video right there changed that opinion slightly.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the Rockets win it, mainly because of Yao Ming, though. Not Ron Artest
