Ron Artest Joking Around During Postgame Conference

Ron Artest

After helping the Houston Rockets beat the Portland Trailblazers, to go onto the 2nd round of the playoffs, Ron Artest jokes around with reporters that he’s “been in the stands before”.

It all started in the fourth quarter of the game, when Ron Artest went up into the stands after saving a ball. He didn’t come down right away, because the fans went crazy and all started patting him on the back and cheering him on, similar to a football player jumping onto the wall after scoring a touchdown.

When asked “how it felt to go up into the stands” after the game, Artest said, “well, uh… I’ve been in the stands before….I wanted to soak it in, so I sat down. This guy offered me some beer, when he did that, I’m gonna sit down and enjoy this, he’s not throwing it at me. I was gonna take a sip, but there’s too many cameras.”

Ron Artest: “I’ve been in the stands before…”

World’s Most Amazing Basketball Shot

Randomness Basketball

This shot happened in a college playoff game between Guilford College & Randolph Macon on January 31, 2005.

From the sound of it, this was a pretty good game. Both teams are tied in overtime with only 00.6 seconds left on the play clock. A player from Randolph Macon hits a free throw to take the lead. With only a fraction of a second left on the clock, they obviously believe they just won the game. That same player then misses the second free throw….

What happens next is something you will only believe when you watch the video.

Video of Amazing Basketball Shot:

While the title is a bit sensational, this really was an amazing, and lucky, shot. It definitely has to rank up there as one of the greatest moments in this history of NCAA basketball. Oh, and in case you are wondering, the name of the player who hit the amazing shot is Jordan Snipes.

The Double Alley-Oop Dunk

So I used to play basketball at my highschool, and I also worked for the basketball team at my college. I’ve gone to alot of basketball games, including highschool, college and pro. I’ve seen alot of awesome basketball plays, but I can’t say I’ve ever seen a Double Alley-Oop Dunk.

Wow… The Double Alley Oop dunk just blows me away… especially because it appears to have happened at a high school game.

Air Jordan 2009 – Movie Trailer or Commercial?

I found this video on Youtube today. I’m not quite sure if it’s a commercial or a movie trailer, but it’s pretty good brand-marketing for the Jordan 2009 sneakers. The weird thing is that I didn’t see a mention of Nike anywhere, so I’m wondering if they were behind it. I wouldn’t mind seeing it on TV someday.

Video of “Questionable” Calls Against Yao Ming

Yao Ming & Referee

In a recent NBA game between the Houston Rockets & Cleveland Cavaliers, there were some really “questionable” calls made against Yao Ming. I was actually watching this game, and I can say that there were a few other calls that seemed a little odd. Not just against Yao Ming, but also against a few other Rockets players.

As you can see in the video, the calls were clearly wrong. Especially when you watch the close replay of Yao Ming and Ben Wallace. And then, of course, Yao couldn’t get a single call on the other end.

Check the video out for yourself:

Questionable Calls Against Yao Ming

RODDDNEEEEY WHAAAAT’RE YOU LOOOOKING ATTT!!??!?!???

I don’t know about you, but those calls were pretty horrible. Worst officiating I’ve seen against Yao Ming I’ve seen all year. Here’s the box score from that game. There are plenty of other similar videos showing the same thing.

Yao Ming’s Incredibly Lucky Shot

To open the 2008-2009 NBA season, the Houston Rockets hosted the Memphis Grizzlies at the Toyota Center. Led by Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady & Ron Artest, the Rockets ended up winning the game 82-71.

During the 3rd Quarter, Yao Ming attempts a shot in the paint, but ends up getting fouled by Memphis. While the defender was hanging onto his right arm, Yao uses his weak hand to toss up a blind hail-mary shot over his shoulder. He got the basket, the foul, and the extra shot.

Incredibly Lucky Shot by Yao Ming.

That’s what I would call an Off-Balanced, No-Look, Over-the-Shoulder, Left-Handed, While-Getting-Fouled shot of the year… or just lucky as hell. Either way, I’d like to be the first to nominate this shot for an ESPY.

Brian Urlacher – Old Spice Commercial

Brian Urlacher plays for the Chicago Bears. He is a six-time Pro Bowl player, with a reputation to being one of the best defensive players in the history of the NFL. He’s already won awards for NFL Defensive ‘Rookie of the Year’ (2000) & ‘Player of the Year’ (2005).

That’s the Brian Urlacher that most people know… But many people don’t know how he grew up. Check out how Old Spice helped him develop in this 30-second YouTube video.

Who’s laughing now? Heh. ME.

If Old Spice doesn’t work for you like it did for Brian Urlacher, then maybe you should drink some more milk, cuz it does your body good. Although… I personally prefer hemp milk.

The 11-Year-Old Basketball Prodigy

Jashaun Agosto is only in the 5th grade. But this 11-year-old has already developed some pretty amazing skills on the basketball court.

He works out on the court of the Federal Way Community Center for 4 hours a day. He sets records by running an incredible mile in 4:50. Every night before bed he does 200 sit-ups, 200 push-ups and 250 squats. His dribbling-skills are ranked up there with the Harlem Globetrotters. The kid is simply amazing, especially for only being 11-years-old!

If he can stay healthy and keep the same work ethic, he’s going to become the next Lebron someday. Check him out in this 3-minute video:

Was it just me, or was that reporter really annoying?

Cool Video. You can read more about Jashaun Agosto in this article from his local paper, The Seattle Times.

The Madden Curse – Is it Real or Coincidence?

The Madden Curse – We’ve all heard about it. But does it hold any weight or is it all just sheer coincidence?

The Madden Curse basically goes like this, whoever is on the cover of Madden, that athlete will not have a good year on the football field. Some people really believe that the Madden Curse is real. Although most athletes acknowledge that being on the cover of Madden is an honor, none of them will speak on the legitimacy of the Curse.

Let’s take a look at those who have graced the cover of Madden.

Madden 2000 – BARRY SANDERS

Barry Sandrs - 2000 Madden Cover Curse

Technically, Barry Sanders is NOT the main image on the cover, John Madden is the main image. Barry Sanders is only featured slightly in the background.

However, this hasn’t stopped the believers of the Madden Curse. They claim that because soon after being on the cover of Madden 2000, Barry Sanders abruptly announced his retirement from the game of football, therefore, he was cursed. In fact, he didn’t even play a single game during the 1999-2000 season.

Did Barry Sanders have another season left in him?

Barry Sanders – Stats During ‘Cursed’ Seasons:

  1995 1996 1997 1998 1999

Rushing Yards: 1,500 1,553 2,053 1,491 N/A

Touchdowns: 12 11 14 4 N/A

Madden 2001 – EDDIE GEORGE

Eddie George - 2001 Madden Cover Curse

The season before Eddie George appeared on the cover of Madden, he put up career numbers with the Tennessee Titans.

In the year 2001, the same year Eddie George was on the cover of Madden, he had a recurring toe injury that plagued him throughout the entire season. He set career-lows for rushing that same season. It’s easy to say that this was not his best season.

Eddie George – Stats During ‘Cursed’ Seasons:

  1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003
Games: 16 16 16 16 16 16 16

Madden 2002 – DAUNTE CULPEPPER

Dante Culpepper - 2002 Madden Cover Curse

A recurring back injury kept Dante Culpepper out for part of the season he was on the Madden Cover.

Dante Culpepper’s overall stats were down, mostly due to the four games he was out because of the back injury. He threw 19 less TD’’s & approximately 1,300 yards less than the season before. Some critics would even say that Culpepper never quite rebounded from that back injury, despite the fact that statistically, his best year was in 2004.

Daunte Culpepper – Stats From Cursed Seasons:

Madden 2003 – MARSHALL FAULK

Marshall Faulk - 2003 Madden Cover Curse

The year that Marshall Faulk was on the cover of Madden, the St. Louis Ram’s were riddled with injuries, including his quarterback Kurt Warner.

While Faulk did not suffer any injuries, his overall stats were down, accounting for his worst NFL season since 1996. It’s easy to see that if his team was at 100% Faulk would’ve had a much better year!

Marshall Faulk – Stats During ‘Cursed’ Seasons:

  1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005

Total Touchdowns: 12 26 21 10 11 4 1

Madden 2004 – MICHAEL VICK

Michael Vick - 2004 Madden Cover

The supposed Madden Curse struck Michael Vick the worst. The season prior to being on the Madden cover, Michael Vick put up the best stats of his career.

One week after Madden 2004 debuted with him on the cover, he broke his leg during a preseason game. Vick was never able to reach the platform he once had. As we all know now, his football career went on a downward spiral ever since. He is currently spending his time in prison for “criminal conspiracy resulting from felonious dog fighting”.

Michael Vick – Stats During ‘Cursed’ Seasons:

Madden 2005 – RAY LEWIS

Ray Lewis - 2005 Madden Cover Curse

The Madden Curse did not seem to affect Ray Lewis too much.

Ray Lewis managed to put up career numbers the season he was on the cover of Madden, although his stats were down from the prior season. Due to an injury, he only missed one game during the season he was supposed to be afflicted by the Madden Curse. This was also the season Ray Lewis was found not guilty of drug charges.

Ray Lewis – Stats During ‘Cursed’ Seasons:

Madden 2006 – DONOVAN McNABB

Donovan McNabb - 2006 Madden Cover Curse

A year after taking the Eagles to the Superbowl, Donovan McNabb was awarded the cover of Madden 2006.

However, that same year, he was hurt through-out most of the season because of a hernia. His overall stats were down and he threw for more interceptions. McNabb couldn’t regain his ‘Superbowl’ fame, the Eagles finished in last place, and missed the NFL playoffs.

Donovan McNabb – Stats From Cursed Seasons:

Madden 2007 – SHAUN ALEXANDER

Shaun Alexander - 2007 Madden Cover Curse

One year after having a GREAT rushing year, breaking the TD record and receiving the MVP award, Shaun Alexander was awarded the cover of Madden 2007.

However, that same season he broke his foot and missed almost half of the season, six games to be exact. Shaun Alexander only put up 896 yards & 3.6 yards per carry, a significatnly lower rushing stats, making it his worst season since his rookie year. and has never been the same runningback since being on the cover of Madden.

Shaun Alexander – Stats From Cursed Seasons:

Madden 2008 – VINCE YOUNG

Vince Young - 2008 Madden Cover Curse

In his second season in the NFL, Vince Young was featured on the cover of Madden in 2008.

While Vince Young didn’t have a BAD season, he certainly didn’t have a great one. The amount of touchdowns an completed passes dropped, while the amount of interceptions went up. His rushing stats also dropped the same year he was on the cover of Madden.

It must be noted that the Tennessee Titans still managed to make the playoffs while they were supposedly ‘cursed’.

Madden 2009 – Brett Favre

Brett Favre - 2009 Madden Cover Curse

This year, EA Sports decided to go with a RETIRED player on the cover, but Brett Favre ruined that when he announced that he was planning on coming back for one more season.

After some brief drama with the Packers, Favre was reinstated to the NFL. However, the 2009 NFL season isn’t starting off too well for Brett Favre. Since the Packers not want him back, he is starting off the season with a new team, the New York Jets.

Does this signify the beginning of another chapter in the Madden Curse? I guess only time (and Brett Favre) will tell…

Brett Favre – Stats During ‘Cursed’ Seasons:

Moron Takes Golf Ball to the Stomach

Why? Why would you do something as stupid as this?

This guy knowingly & willingly stands about 10-15 ft. in front of his buddy who drives a golf-ball as hard as he can into his stomach. The guy then flops around like a fish, screaming in pain.

REALLY?! Did you not think this would hurt? Complete Moron!
