Theory of a Deadman in Houston on 02/06/2010

I previously posted some of the videos I shot of Papa Roach when they were in Houston.
Last night I went to the Theory of a Deadman concert at the House of Blues. The place was sold out and packed from wall-to-wall. They put on a great show, including an acoustic set!
Below are a few videos I shot while I was there. You can see all of these same videos on my YouTube account.

Believe it or not, the above video is an animation by a company called Animusic.
Does anybody know the name of this song? Would love to know what it is.

Neil Young singing the ‘Fresh Prince’ theme song

I didn’t know what to expect at first, but this turns out to be pretty good. Not sure how Neil Young kept a straight face throughout the song, but he does a surprisingly good cover of the ‘Fresh Prince’ theme song on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
**UPDATE**
Ok, now I feel like a fool. I probably watched this video of ‘Neil Young’ singing the Fresh Prince theme song about seven times this morning. It wasn’t until I read this article from NPR hours later that I realized that wasn’t Neil Young… That was actually Jimmy Fallon doing a freakishly good impersonation. Still a good cover though.

Last night, my fiancee and I went to see Papa Roach at Warehouse Live in Houston. As usual, they put on one KICK-ASS show!
I’ve seen them many times now at Buzzfest, where they steal the show everytime, and another up-close and personal acoustic set at the Buzz Studios, which was really cool to see them play so close. Last night’s concert was pretty wild. The energy was high, the crowd was wild. There was a chick fight right next to where we were standing, which ended with one girl drenched in beer. That was fun.
Below are a few videos I shot from the show.

Getting Away With Murder
I Almost Told You That I Loved You
Broken Home

Death Cab for Cutie – Little Bribes

I’m a big fan of the band Death Cab for Cutie. So, I was pretty excited to see this video below. It was created by an upcoming Cinematographer named Ross Ching.
Death Cab for Cutie video created by: Ross Ching
The video took Ching about two weeks to create and he shot the vast majority of it in the LA area. Ching says, “For this video, I pulled out every time lapse, stop motion and live action camera trick that I could think of. The goal was to create a fresh, new direction to take my work to.” He posted alot more info on his site about how he made this video, click here to read all about it.
While this is NOT the official Death Cab for Cutie music video for ‘Little Bribes’, one can only hope that they use this.
Playing For Change – Songs Around the World

You have to check out these four videos below. They are easily the coolest videos I’ve seen in awhile.
They were created by Playing For Change, a “multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music.” They traveled around the world with a mobile recording setup, and filmed different street artists performing the same songs, then mashed them up to create something I can only describe as remarkable and inspiring. I can even begin to explain how much these videos made me smile, especially Grandpa Elliott.
Learn more about what Playing for Change is all about. Also be sure to follow Playing For Change on Twitter for constant updates and new videos. Oh, but most importantly, be sure check out their work below. I seriously think I could watch these all day long. I hope they continue to produce more videos.

Flight of the Conchords – Business Time

So, one of my favorite shows is Flight of the Conchords.
It’s basically these two guys from New Zealand who move to the United States, and then struggle to learn the ways of Americans. While they are living their life in New York City, the guys from Flight of the Conchords will randomly bust out into song.
The guys from Flight of the Conchords were originally a “folk-parody” band from New Zealand. They have some pretty funny songs. However, my absolute favorite is Business Time.
Here are two video’s about ‘Business Time’ I found on YouTube. One is their stand up routine, and the other is from their television show.
