Cloud Gate in Chicago [Timelapse Video]

Just a few weeks ago, I got back from a trip to Chicago. While I was in town, of course, we did a bunch of site-seeing and one of the places we checked out was the ‘Silver Bean’ in Millennium Park, which is apparently called Cloud Gate. While browsing around on Flickr, I found this below timelapse video that somebody shot at Cloud Gate. It came out pretty good, in my opinion.

My Personal Photos of Cloud Gate

Below are a few photos I took while visiting Chicago. We went to Millennium Park to see Cloud Gate, and the best pictures of it are below. You can see more photos of my Chicago trip in this Flickr Set.

The Cutest Beagle Puppy You’re Gonna See Today

So, recently, my girlfriend and I got a new (lemon) beagle puppy. Her name is Lola and we got her when she is about 5 and a half weeks old. I snapped all of these pics below during the first few days we had her. Click on any image to see a high-res image of her.

Also, Lola was featured on Purina’s Pet Charts for 05/12/2009. If you think this little lemon beagle puppy is cute, please visit the site and give her a vote. There is no required registration to vote, and if she gets enough votes, she will be listed as a “Top Photo” for everybody to enjoy. Thanks!

The Subway Art of Poster Boy

Have you ever heard of a street artist that goes by the name of ‘Poster Boy’?

Apparently he is some kind of guerrilla street artist that lives in New York City. Whenever he’s waiting around to catch the subway, he’ll use a little creativity to alter the billboards and posters hanging on the walls. Using only a razorblade, he slices and dices the advertisements and then eventually combines them together to create a brand new piece of art. This article explains his subway art quite well.

Of course, this is all very illegal, and he would be arrested on the spot if he was caught doing it. Nonetheless, it doesn’t stop him. Check out this video he shot for a documentary below. It doesn’t take him very long to use his razor and cut up the posters.

Pretty cool work he does.. I wish there were more videos of him creating his subway art. Here’s a link to Poster Boy’s flickr account, so you can check out all of the work he’s uploaded there. I also created this photo gallery of his Subway Art so you can see some of his work a little easier.

Subway Art: My Favorites from Poster Boy

Here’s a few images that I found in his flickr account that stood out to me. I wish that ‘Poster Boy’ would’ve uploaded some high-res images, because these would make for some really kick ass desktop wallpapers.

Saint Arnold Brewery’s Tie-Dyed Bentley

I live down in Houston, TX. A couple of times a month, I like to go and take ‘tours’ of the Saint Arnold Brewery, which also happens to be Texas’ oldest craft brewery. Of course, when I say take a tour, that really means that I pay $5 and listen to the history of the brewery, then I get to drink the freshest, most delicious beer I’ve ever tasted.

Well… over the weekend, I was at a local farmers market. It just so happened that there was a Vintage British Car Show going on at the same time. To my surprise, the (elusive) Saint Arnold Tie-Dyed Bentley was being showcased.

If you’re ever in Houston, I would highly encourage you to check out the Saint Arnold Brewery. Or at least ask to try a pint at whatever bar or pub you may be visting while you’re in town. Alot of Houstonian’s drink it, so most of the bars should carry it. My favorite beer from Saint Arnold is the Lawnmower & Brown Ale, but they have many different beers that you may enjoy instead.

Learn more about the Saint Arnold Brewery on their wikipedia page… Or you can check out the story of St. Arnold, the Patron Saint of Brewers.
